The DBA works closely with a federal database administrator, follows government technical direction, and supports the security, reliability, and performance of the customer’s Oracle 19c environment.

The customer’s planned roadmap includes migration to Oracle Autonomous Database and, ultimately, Oracle 26ai. This role offers an opportunity to support those future modernization efforts. • Administer Oracle 19c databases, including monitoring, troubleshooting, patching, backup, recovery, and routine maintenance.
  • Perform DISA STIG audits, remediate noncompliant findings, and maintain compliance evidence.
  • Manage database access, account unlocks, password resets, and service account password changes for credentials older than 365 days.
  • Document procedures for resetting expired accounts and resolving SQL Developer password reset issues involving Connect Identifier and Network Alias selections.
  • Identify users with direct database connections and assist with their transition to TNS connections.
  • Maintain accurate schema and environment mappings in the Appschema spreadsheet and current user and schema manager contacts in the database contact table.
  • Coordinate database changes, issues, risks, and progress with the federal lead and supporting teams.
  • Support database migration and upgrade planning, testing, and execution.
  • Provide database support for Oracle APEX applications, as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Mid-level professional experience administering Oracle databases in production environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle 19c.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining Oracle database DISA STIG compliance.
  • Working knowledge of database security, user privileges, auditing, configuration management, and remediation documentation.
  • Experience troubleshooting database issues and performing routine maintenance, backup, and recovery activities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a federal technical lead and follow government priorities and direction.
  • Clear communication and technical documentation skills.
  • Oracle database migration or upgrade experience.
  • Experience supporting federal government database environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Oracle Application Express (APEX) experience.
  • Hands on experience with or at least general knowledge of Oracle 26ai.
  • Familiarity with Oracle Autonomous Database.
  • Relevant Oracle database administration certifications.

Compensation:

  • Salary Range: $135,000 – $145,000 annually (commensurate with experience, certifications, and location)
  • Benefits: Health, dental, and vision insurance; 401(k) with employer match; paid time off; professional development opportunities.

Candidates may use tools (including AI) for proofreading or formatting; however, using any tool to fabricate, exaggerate, or misrepresent qualifications, experience, or work product is not permitted. We may assess application materials for job-related technical depth, internal consistency, and demonstrated hands-on experience, including through follow-up questions, skills assessments, or reference checks. Verification of education may be requested before or during the hiring process.

For security and identity verification purposes, participants may be asked to temporarily disable virtual backgrounds during portions of the call.

Misrepresentation or falsification may result in removal from further consideration. Candidates who need a reasonable accommodation in the application or interview process may request one.
